I’m sick and tired of these guys bugging me all the time, and even sending an email through a newbie lawyer trying to intimidate me with a SLAPP. Even though they claim Barrick vs Lopehandia applies to this situation, I don’t think they have any ground. And even if they somehow win, a company like Barrick only got $75, 000 in damages, so [tag]Impress International[/tag] / [tag]Impressive Getaways[/tag] should probably only win a small fraction of that.

If any of you legally trained readers care to give me differing advice, then I’m open to suggestion, but since I’m overseas, and they’re in Canada, and if they sue and I’m not present then they can win by default, I think I’m just gonna let this rest right here.

    I’m also having a problem with Impress International. Wondering if you were able to get any satisfaction in your dispute.

    iN oCTOBER 2007 WE SIGNED UP WITH IMPRESS INTERNATIONAL,
    IMPRESS GETAWAYS. WE PAID TO BE MEMBERS AND NOW WE ARE OUT OF OUR MONEY. THEY WERE SUPOSE TO SEND US A MEMBERSHIP CARD AND DID NOT. THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED ANY OF OUR CALLS. SO MY HUSBAND CALLED THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT AND THEY CALLED US ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER TO SEE WHAT TYPE OF BUISNESS WE HAD AND WANTED TO SIGN WITH THEN. mY HUSBAND TOLD THEM WHY WE WERE REALY CALLING AND SHE SAID SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO US THEY DID NOT. HE EVEN TOLD THEM THAT WE CALLED THE POLICE.THE POLICE TOLD US THAT THEY HAVE HAD OTHER COMPLAINTS BUT IT IS NOT FRAUD IT IS A CIVIL MATTER. SO WE ARE GOING TOSEE WHAT THE NEXT STEP IS IN STOPPING THEM FROM DOING THIS TO SOME OTHER PEOPLE. HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET OUR MONEY BACK OR AT LEAST PUT A STOP TO THIS CON.

    Please advise what the outcome was. This was obviously a huge scam that thousands of us fell for. Were you able to get in touch with anyone regarding Impress. All their telephone numbers have been disconnected. Is this just a complete waste of time??

    I hope you got your money back, we did with VISA credit card by making an official complaint. Now they are out of business because I can’t find them anywhere.
