A ninja?
I wish I could learn how to do that. D Probably I’ll have to break a bone or two before I can do what he does.

Spiderman
I wonder how our legs can withstand that kind of impacts?

Fighting scenes and capoeira
Same crazy martial arts moves.

Monkey man?
I’ll be out of breath by the first one minute of the chase. P His name is David Belle btw. Is that a movie scene from somewhere?

Amazing breakdancing moves
Finally, something that I can do. Yeah right! P Watch his “push-up” at the end of the clips. Crazy stuff!!

Hahah, funny issue. Take a look.

I’m all pro Microsoft and all that, but this is a bit overdoing it.

There goes the Ipod Mini, kinda short lived, but its replacement looks nice.

These do look nice, but Sony’s price premium is still there.

Skype jumping into China too now, starting to get crowded in there.

Interesting scenario: the 2 programmers don’t agree with each other and have a fight deleting each other’s lines one after another )

Sometime in the future, I think we’ll see a free for all trial between Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Apple, Intel, AMD, IBM, SUN and other big hitters to see a winner take all lawsuit )

OK, now can someone tell the gas pumps to drop the prices too? A full tank for me 6 months ago: $45. Full tank yesterday: $73.

As I mentioned on my personal blog, I’ve downloaded Qumana LE and have been playing around for a bit with it. First off, I really think this is a great product for bloggers. Sometimes I think of an issue to blog about, and the thought of having to log on to the server before posting actually holds me back from doing so. With Qumana, I just fire up the editor and blog away.

Of course, being new on the scene, there are still some issues to be ironed out. These are just some of my observations from using Qumana for a couple of posts:
  • When I use the MetaWebLog API, both my blogs return errors when clicking on previous posts, as well as the categories drop down list. I’ve posted this issue on the Qumana forums.
  • When I switch to the MovableType API, the errors disappear, and yet I still can’t select any category from the drop down list, so I have to do it manually from the web.
  • How do I edit in HTML mode?
  • Uh oh, look at all this messy HTML that gets published )
  • If I try to insert multiple tags (eg. Qumana, Qumana LE), it shows Qumana twice, and LE once. I have to do Qumana, Qumana+LE and delete the + sign manually once the tags have been inserted.
  • No capability to do strike through font (I never usually do this, but just happened that I needed to do this earlier today).
Overall, I can live with all those problems sans the category drop down list problem (BIG one for me) and messy HTML that gets produced, and I’m pretty sure the team will fix those quickly. Apart from that, what’s not to like? Spell checking, easy image, link and tag inserting, WYSIWYG editor and in general a great productivity tool. I think I’m sticking with this for awhile ) . Thanks for a great product guys!

For the last week or so, I’ve been studying interestedly some agile / lightweight methodologies/processes of software development, with the main one being Extreme Programming (XP in short, not to be confused with Windows XP). As a result of studying, I’ve come upon the concept of Test Driven Development (TDD). Now while I know there are various pros and cons to using XP (and I’ll hold judgement on whether it’s a good thing or bad thing), I can’t seem to find any disadvantages of adopting TDD into how to develop applications.

The basic process of TDD goes like this:
- Write a test (that’s right, even before the code)
- Watch it fail
- Write code to make test pass
- Refactor if necessary
- Repeat

There are various arguments running around against TDD allowing design to grow from these tests, as opposed to doing design upfront and before any code is written. But I think that in either case, a test driven process can be used for the improvement of code. By writing tests upfront, whether with a Bid Design Up Front, minimal design or no design at all, it saves quite some time from bug hunting and fixing once the software is more complex and developed.

For me, doing a couple of examples with TDD has been exhilarating and quite enjoyable. I never ever thought I’d enjoy writing tests for applications, but to see that tests actually improve quality and even drive how an application gets built is quite amazing. I’d really recommend giving TDD a try in your next development project.

The best team in the NBA just got even better with the addition of prized free agent Michael Finley. I had a gut feeling that somehow he’d end up choosing the Spurs over the other teams, mainly because it has the best chance of winning another NBA championship within the next few years. Sure, Miami and Detroit will contend in the East, but realistically, can either of them match up with the Spurs?

Some thoughts:

- Even if Shaq decides to go on a rampage and leads Miami to a championship next year, will he be able to do it 2 or 3 years in a row? With the Spurs, they’ve got a core team that’s still quite young and can afford Finley more shots at the championship than Miami.

- Will Antoine Walker and Jason Williams play nice and fit in to the Miami system? Those two can be trouble on and off the court.

- Can Detroit beat the Spurs in a 7 game series? Yes, they play tough on both ends of the court, and could’ve won if they had home court advantage. But is it possible for them to get home court advantage? The Spurs have a virtual lock on the West, nobody can touch them, while in the East, Detroit will have to tackle Miami and Indiana for best record. Even harder to get the best record for the whole NBA.

I believe Finley made the right decision. After all, he’s still making $52 Million for the next 3 years, that’s just over $17 M per year. What does salary have to do with anything anymore. He calculated where the best chance was for winning and went for it. I say good for him.

I’ve just downloaded Qumana LE, a WYSIWYG editor that allows posting to blogs that support certain API’s. This is my first test post.
